v If A’s 1 day's work =
(1/n),then A can finish the work in n days
v A is thrice as good a
workman as B, then:
Ratio of work done by A and B = 3 : 1.
Ratio of times taken by A and B to finish a work = 1 : 3.
Ratio of work done by A and B = 3 : 1.
Ratio of times taken by A and B to finish a work = 1 : 3.
Time and Work Aptitude trick 1
As we
all know that If a person has an ability to do the work in 10 days(for
example), then the person's one day's work is 1/10.... that means he can
do a work 10 times that in day.
TIP NUMBER 1: EFFICIENCY
If a
person is more efficient than the other, it may be Twice or Thrice or...etc..
then
information given should be taken in the form of RATIO.
Eg: A is twice as good
work man as B and together they finish a piece of work in 14 days .
The
number of days taken by A alone to finish the the work is??
A
B
2
: 1
A+B ==>2+1 =>
3-----------X----------- 14
(DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL)
A==========>
2-----------X-----------x
3 X 14=2x
x=21.
Time & Work Aptitude
Trick 2
This trick is based on the
aptitude problem solving like Work done for some days and leaving, this is
sometimes tough to understand and solve …..
So, we can solve it using
small tip… as follows
Eg:- A and B can do a piece
of work in 45 and 40 days respectively. They began to do the work together but
A leaves after some days and then B completed the remaining work in 23 days.
The number of days after which A left the work was:-
The remaining work is 1- 23/40
= 17/40.
1/40 X 23 = 23/40
17/ 360
-----------1 day
17/40 -----------x days (cross multiply)
X=
17 x 360/ 17 x 40 รจ 9 days
